Sims walking side by side and talking?

The trailer for Strangerville shows sims walking side by side while talking to each other multiple times. Is this a new feature or just made to look like that for the trailer??

It’s always bugged me that if you tell sims to go somewhere together they all jog separately, this would be a really nice touch to have them actually walk together and have a conversation! It would make exploring the world with your sims a lot more fun and realistic.

Please don't let the teaser be Strangetown

Strangetown is my favourite The Sims 2 neighbourhood. I also loved The Sims 2 PSP RPG version of it and I think that it had great lore (if spin offs count). I'm very personally attached to that neighbourhood.

You know why it worked though? Because it was subtle and in the open at the same time. Strangetown was not so "strange", just remote, with an integrated alien population and their own little disappearances and feuds.

and then we get this:



as the teaser. That's not a town with a mystery or two to unravel and a unique backstory. That's a malfunction in animation. Imagine they bring back your favourite city and everyone walks like this:

Because subtlety is dead in The Sims. So I'm kind of crossing my fingers, hoping that you didn't just defile the memory of The Sims 2.

So I was talking about the things I want in the sims 4. One of which was cars. The first comment I got was:
"The sims 4 can't have cars. Cars are useless without the open world".
The sims 2 had cars and it worked just fine without the open world.

Skinwalkers instead of Witches?

Everyone is talking about classical witches, but maybe they based witches on Native American culture this time around.
Skin-walkers are basically magicians/ witches as well.
It would certainly make sense with the desert setting, as the Navajo tribe also lived in deserts

What Powers/Weaknesses do you want to see for werewolves?

While i read three posts here in the forums and some posts in other places. I'm still curious as to what Powers/Weaknesses can werewolves have for their tree if they ever get one for TS4.

Also, what do you think about adding timed Powers/Weaknesses to the tree so its like, You buy one of the options and it after a while it times out and gets disabled so you have to buy it again or spend more point and buy it permanently?

Do you think there will be a boss fight in StrangerVille?

So back in TS3 we’ve had packs that were announced almost a whole year before release (Into The Future for example). Now we have StrangerVille that’s announced less than a week before release. Would you rather have packs to be announced as early as possible, or as late as possible?

Do you think we'll get more Occult Sims via a Supernatural EP or individual GPs?

With the upcoming release of the new Strangertown GP, I'm left wondering if we won't get a new EP fully focused on Supernatural sims.

This could happen with the same attention to detail/deeper mechanics as with the Vampires GP given it would be a whole EP focused on a few new occults.

While the idea of getting more GPs each individually focused on an occult like Vampires is nice, it's also somewhat sad that it would probably take a long time for us to get more than just Witches, which are the most popular and most requested occult, as GPs aren't exactly released close to one another.

Perhaps we might also get new ones based on EP themes such as mermaids with a tropical vacation EP akin to Sims 3.

Relaxing in the bed?

I must have dreamed it, because I can’t find information on this anywhere. This morning I woke up and was checking the forum for new updates about Strangerville. I saw somewhere, probably on Facebook, that they were bringing back relaxing on the bed. There was even a screenshot of a sim relaxing in a twin bed. But it’s apparent that part was a dream after I fell back asleep, because it’s nowhere 😂

Considering all the comments I've seen in the last few days, I feel there's three distinct thing simmers want above all else: Witches, University and Farming. Or maybe you just want something completely different? I'm curious to see what's first and foremost in everyone's minds now we know what the newest pack is. What do you want most?

I'm not hugely clued up in either Sims lore or the latest dev hints but from what I've seen we've heard: mother and Bella in relation to happenings there and IIRC Bella Goth got abducted in a setting similar to Strangerville (though I think the name was Strangetown back then maybe?). So alien modified Bella wreaking havoc on a small town? How will this reconcile with the fact that there already is a Bella Goth in the game? My sims often make friends with that Bella. And most importantly do ya'll think we'll get some powers like Eleven for solving the mystery?

Your Perfect Sims Game

There’s been a lot of talk about the potential of a Sims 5 game around here lately, and it has me thinking: what does the hypothetically perfect Sims game look like to you guys?

For me personally I would start off with the focus being on the sims themselves. Make them unique, make them complicated, but most importantly make them interesting.

Each trait should make them behave differently and react to their surroundings in unique ways (They kind of have this is Sims 4 but it’s surface level). Have their traits change how they autonomously act. A bookworm sim would be reading during their downtime, a social sim could be finding the nearest sim to chat with.

Make relationships more complicated and bring in a compatibility and reputation system. Likes and dislikes would also bring in more depth, and include fear in the emotions with specific fears we can choose to give our sims.

This is complicated, but bring in basic motivations that influence the sims decisions. If you’ve ever looked into the Enneagram, it describes the 9 basic motivations behind people’s actions (1-Doing the right thing, morals, ethics, fairness. 2-Love, relationships, being needed, helping others. 3-Achievements, titles, promotions, recognition. 4-Being special, unique, different, having purpose. 5-Knowledge, data, learning, education. 6-Safety, security, fear, comfort. 7-Fun, variety, options, adventure. 8-Challenges, control, power, justice. 9-Peace, harmony, collaborating with others.) This could be a core trait separate from other traits and would influence how the sim expresses them. So say a 3 sim with the bookworm trait would only read books that were popular or would make them look good and they could brag about the different books they’ve read. Again, complicated, but it would add a layer of personality that would make the sims more realistic.

As for the worlds, I like the option to jump from one world to another in Sims 4. But I would also like to see open neighborhoods so we can visit neighboring lots without a loading screen. Also no rabbit holes. I like how I can visit every lot on the map in the Sims 4. Some jobs could be rabbit holes, but it would be nice to make more open or semi-open careers so I could follow my sims to work if I wanted.

I’d love to be able to also choose the time period I’m playing in, but those could be expansions.

At the very least make cell phones optional and goals for adults and children that can be accomplished without modern technology.

Ultimately the perfect Sims game for me comes down to customization; allow each player to make their game as unique or realistic as they like. Bring in the toggle options from Sims 3 and CAW.

I could keep going, but I’ll open it up to you. What does the perfect Sim game look to you? I’m thinking base game, but you could include expansions you’d like to see as well. It doesn’t have to be realistic, we’re dreaming here and sharing ideas, so go as wild as you like.

It seems most of our current worlds are based in a North American setting. Sim Guru Grant has recently stated they are trying to work around the world in terms of how they design their worlds. So the question is:

Which continent would you like to see represented most in a future world?

And if you want to elaborate on the specifics such as region and culture I'd love to hear about it.

Each of those classes will unlock roars, wheezes, howls and more depending on what you choose. You will then unlock different costumes, makeup, ears, teeth and claws, plus feathers, hair, scales and more ornaments for the skin, related to your favorite class.

The scary Arthropods

By becoming an arthropod you will be able to add extra spider arms, scorpion tails, exoesqueleton skin, insect antennae, mosquito eyes, and more things to select and customize your WereArthropod. You sim voice will have a buzz sound to it when transformed.

The disgusting Amphibians

By becoming an amphibian you will be able to add frog like eyes, axolotl ears, muddy skin, toad hands and more things to select and customize your WereAmphibian. You sim will croak when transformed.

The treacherous Reptilians

By becoming an reptilian you will be able to choose to have no ears, scaly skins, snake fangs, crocodile eyes, turtle shell, lizard paws and more things to select and customize your WereReptil. You sim voice will hiss and put emphasis on "s" when transformed.

The majestic Birds

By becoming an bird you will be able to choose to have no ears, feathered skins, different beak types, wing arms and more things to select and customize your WereBird. You sim voice will sound like he is singing and he will beautifuly whistle sometimes when transformed.

The mortal Mammals
By becoming an mammal (? lol) you will be able to choose rat teeth, goat eye, kitsune tail, rabbit ears, horse legs, deer horn, bull nose ring and more things to select and customize your WereMammal. Obviously, you will be able to make your classic werewolf, or maybe werecats too... You sim voice will be something like a growl, howl, roar or squeal when transformed.

New world:

Welcome to Dòngwù Valley, the hidden village of the magical shapeshifters. Here, if you want to become the leader you have to be the best of the beasts. Learn both Martial Arts and the animal inspired Kung Fu, and enjoy all that China has to offer.

New objects:

Prepare to fight at the monster pit. Master the "Kung Fu" ability, participate in the tournament and climb the ranks if you want to achieve your "Master of All Beasts" aspiration.

New skills:

Inspired by animals, "Kung fu" is now in The Sims 4, alongside "martial arts".
"Self control" Skill: your sim have been turned into a mosnter, and doesnt know how to control it. Master the Self Control skill to be able to turn into the beast within your sim whenever you like.
New aspirations:

"Master of All Beasts" aspiration
You have to master the Kung Fu skill, the Martial Arts skill and win against 15 shapeshifters at the Monster Pit object.

"Physical Perfection" aspiration:
Max both Athletics and Martial Arts skill levels.

"Martial Arts Master" aspiration
Max the Martial Arts skill and become a Grand Master.

I did not included the fishes here, because we are going to get mermaids soon or later. Maybe they could tie in them in to this when released.
